The joys and spontaneous moments that are found when painting on location, weave their way into the spirit and mood of my paintings. That stays with me and into my studio when finishing many of the paintings shown here. Whether those times are spent in perfect painting weather or just the opposite that nature provides. Some paintings are like a walk in the woods, or canoeing a peaceful lake. They come with ease. Others, like climbing Giant Mountain, or kayaking remote and swollen rivers aren't as easy to undertake. The challenges always present themselves, but are not insurmountable if you learn to choose your direction wisely.
